Spring at the castle
Nature awakens. Everywhere you look you see greenery and blossoms and the warmth of the sun is really felt again. Is this going to be that year when all we really have to do is look back at two years of corona and enjoy it?
Fang Qi (Shi is how you pronounce it, I had to learn it too) and Sander got married at the beautiful Kasteel Wijenburg in Echteld, a castle wedding that is, and chose a moment in spring. Actually, the idea was to get married in the spring last year, but unfortunately that didn’t work out. I can so well imagine that they were tense well into March as to whether it could go ahead this year. But: yes! It worked!
Fang Qi did her preparations in the library. This is secretly my favorite room at Kasteel Wijenburg: beautiful tall windows. Great lighting. A staircase that allows you to go up to have a new perspective for your photos: in short, the perfect indoor space.
More and more makeup artists and/or hair stylists are asking the bride if they can take a few photos. I find it so much fun to then take a quick photo (over the shoulder or not) to create yet another new angle. And that’s how we learn every time too!
This was a day where one moment you were outside and a few moments later it started raining again. How lucky we were during the first look! Then we began the photo shoot. Ramon could literally take 1 picture, after which another shower fell ; )
Anyway… are you getting rain? Then just take pictures inside. This castle has beautiful tall windows and so we took some pictures in the library. Not much later, we quickly ran outside to finally take wedding photos of these two beautiful people in the orchard, among the blossoms.
Wedding in the Blue Salon
This is when the wedding ceremony began. Sander entered with his mother, Fang Qi was led away by her father, and the hour-long ceremony could begin. Not a moment was dull. What a great moment Mark van Leeuwen (of Mooi Trouwen) can make of it…. many guests are personally involved in the ceremony making it truly a very personal moment. There is a lot of laughter, but also moments of sadness…. In short: this was again a very nice wedding ceremony.
Wine tasting in the vaulted cellar
This castle (in Echteld) has a very nice basement. In this you can do a wine tasting with your guests. The nice thing is that you then have a relaxing drink moment and also learn something interesting. A few tasty snacks to go with it and on to dinner.
Dining in the Blue Salon
We had not experienced the tables in an X arrangement before. What a beautiful venue this is! You can do the ceremony, parties, but also dine there. And so this is where the dinner took place. Guests enjoyed multiple courses and great speeches.
Opening Dance
For the evening, Fang Qi had brought a different dress. Because it was a complete choreography of several minutes with several songs. Super fun to see how these two put in a tremendous effort to rehearse such a song! And also a cool opening to the dance night so.
Ramon and I stayed for about an hour of the party night. We took several more images of people on the dance floor. It was wonderful to see everyone finally able to go out of their way again, after two party-less years. And so we enjoyed ourselves extra.
