Photographing a wedding at Hotel Winselerhof is always a lot of fun. Especially when you get to work with many fine colleagues, led by that sweet and hardworking wedding planner Vivian.
And what a beautiful day this was: bride and groom with children, top wedding location, outdoor ceremony and lots of beautiful moments.
Preparing for the Big Day
We started the wedding shoot at the preparations. I took wedding photos at Cindy’s room. Here were her mother and occasionally their two daughters also came to visit. Meanwhile, Ramon was in Joost’s room. Joost briefly transcribed his wedding vows into a nice little book he could use during the ceremony.
Moments everywhere
Capturing these moments is always super fun to do. You already get to know, as a photographer, a little bit about the dynamics of a family. The bride, the children, her mother. before you know it, you yourself have become part of the day.
And then those little moments that are allowed to take place. Cindy helped her youngest put on a little more makeup. Meanwhile, it was time for Joost to change clothes.
Marrying with Children
The days where the bride and groom have children of their own are extra fun to photograph because you don’t have two main characters, but many more.
Reception in the Courtyard
Meanwhile, some of the day’s guests arrived. A few people were also on site the previous evening, but around noon the rest arrived as well. People could enjoy delicious cheese, sausage and chocolate rolls provided by Joost’s witness.
The ceremony site was already beautifully styled by the team at Nailia(Best Day Ever). So beautiful to see how the whole thing came to life!
The guests already took their seats and Cindy stayed behind for a while. Through the courtyard, where she saw her brother for a first look, she then walked to the ceremony site outside.
Outside wedding at the Winselerhof in the Netherlands
Of course, the ceremony was one of the highlights of the day. The moment Cindy walked forward with her brother, the wedding vows, the story of Jaap Loonen (wedding officiant), the speech of their youngest daughter, the presentation of the rings by their little son…. all wonderful emotional moments.
And dachshund Puck was there a little this way too!
The ceremony wasn’t over yet or it started to rain! We recognize this from a previous wedding at the Winselerhof; ) Once again, it was just right in terms of getting married outside.
Inside, the cake was cut, guests were able to offer their congratulations, and there was a nice drink. Because it was raining outside, we couldn’t start the group photos right away, but fortunately, half an hour later it rained a little less and we had a moment where we could quickly take the big group photo.
Then we took some wedding photos with this couple. Just a very short photo shoot, so that they have some nice pictures that show them from head to toe.
Dining in the Rome Room
The dinner took place in Rome Hall. All the tables were stylishly set and it must have been wonderful for guests to dine here. Another totally different setting from the ceremony site or Pirandello, where the drinks took place.
When the bride and groom walked in, dinner could begin.
The eldest daughter had prepared a quiz. Rarely have I seen people laugh so much, during a quiz. Where normally your sorority or group of friends would come up with juicy stories, Guusje had somehow gotten everything above board.
But other people’s speeches were also beautiful, emotional and so valuable to the bride and groom!
The reception of the evening guests took place at Pirandello, the Italian restaurant of Hotel Winselerhof. Here, guests were welcomed with a delicious cocktail and Flemish Flan with Tiramisu. And for lovers, there was also delicious freshly made ice cream.
Parties at the Winselerhof
The evening party was again in the Rome Room of the Winselerhof. The dance floor was opened by the bride and groom’s first dance and then an awesome dance by Cindy’s dance troupe.
What a treat this was to photograph. The location, Hotel Winselerhof, the fine vendors we have known for years, those super cool speeches, the food, the setting and atmosphere…. these are beautiful days to be part of.
