A part Scottish part Dutch wedding. Jaap and Craig thought it all out. The complete wedding day would take place at Paviljoen Puur and they asked us to take the wedding photos. Did you know I am a huge fan of Scotland and everything that’s even slightly related, so heck yes!
Last Friday we made their wedding photos. The preparations where at Paviljoen Puur and during this wedding we were to take the word ‘preparations’ quite literally. Jaap and Craig manufactured their own wedding signs and they had to finish the thing during their own wedding. And we needed some honeycombs, some paper fans and a few pompons as well. Oh, and of course loads of tiny felt balls. It looked so great! We were happy anyway, because this was our first complete day at Paviljoen puur, with preparations, ceremony, reception and dinner!
Both these men walked down the isle with their mothers. It was so emotional to see. And Janita (Blanken van de Berg) was the officiant and talked in both Dutch as English. I love to learn a lot about the couple during these personal moments. The personal speeches, performed by the guests, were great to follow as well. And afterwards, even more tiny felt balls.
We wanted to photograph the couple with a great big sturdy tree, preferably in natural surroundings, so Ramon went to scout the perfect tree. We found it eventually and took some creative photos. After the photoshoot there were more speeches and people could eat. While the guests were enjoying their food and drinks we took some wide angle shots to show the location and the recurring sheep. We suddenly realized that the whole sheep thing was a recurring theme: sheep around the location, tartans made from wool, sheepskin rugs, and felt as decoration. Combine this with the traditional McNeill tartan colors, two lovely married men, international guests, a great location and you get a unique wedding day!
