Beautiful photo locations for a wedding in Amsterdam
We notice that many couples who get married in Amsterdam like to show this in a photo shoot. So we often photograph, in a spontaneous and relaxed way, along the canals. Think for example of the Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). You can find it across the river Amstel. We also regularly go to the Prinsengracht, Herengracht and Keizersgracht. During a walk of an hour, for example, you can have your picture taken at various places.
It is important to this amsterdam wedding photographer that you feel comfortable during the photo shoot. So we take plenty of time and let you be yourself in the photos. Because that’s what you want to see in the report, right?
The Rijksmuseum is also a very beautiful area. As a backdrop and recognisable symbol of Amsterdam, but also as a place where you can have your photo taken under the gates when it’s raining.
We have a lot of experience with various weather conditions and work together with you to make the shoot as casual as possible. We want you to recognize yourselves, partly because it doesn’t have to be so posed.
Other places in Amsterdam where we often take wedding photos are of course the Vondelpark and the Amstelpark. Places where you have a nice mix between nature and city. As you might be able to tell, we love the romance of nature very much. This is what we try to show in the photos.
Plan about 1,5 hours For the photo shoot. We really do need this time, because in Amsterdam you often travel by taxi or on foot. Parking can be a challenge, so we recommend that our couples allow plenty of time for wedding photos. This way, the photo shoot remains relaxed.
We like to improvise during a day and love to think about all your plans with you in advance. Also feel free to send us an email if you don’t know exactly what to do about the schedule. We would love to be your wedding photographer in Amsterdam.
Wedding photographer Amsterdam
What makes our company quite unique is the fact that we bring two professional wedding photographers instead of one + a second shooter. And did you know we’re married ourselves?
During the wedding day, we can be in two locations at the same time. For example, if you do the preparations at separate locations. We have experienced that the groom stays in a hotel with his family, while the bride stays in a B&B with her loved ones.
The first look then took place on one of those beautiful bridges of Amsterdam. It is then convenient to have two photographers. Not only for those preparations, but also for capturing your reaction to each other.
And during the photo shoot it’s also more convenient to have an extra person around to carry things or watch over valuables.

How we work
We already wrote: for us it is important that you can experience your day and we take pictures of it. We photograph moments, without interrupting them. We focus on your friends and family, in addition to making beautiful images of the two of you. Our photos have a recognizable style in terms of color and clarity. A style where all attention goes to the photos, without a ‘filter’. We love photographing small details, such as a bicycle in Amsterdam, those beautiful stately buildings or those recognizable Amsterdam posts.
We also record the surroundings. You are getting married in Amsterdam for a reason and that should be reflected in the photos. Ramon focuses for example on making overview images and atmospheric images in which you can immediately see where your day took place. And I (Hermine) often take care of those detail shots.
During the (digital) introductory meeting we discuss your day. This can be done via Skype, telephone or at our home. We’ll take a look at your schedule and see if we have any tips. We let ourselves be well informed, so that on the day itself we can proceed silently. That way you can look back on a wonderful wedding reportage.

Favorite Wedding Venues in Amsterdam
In terms of wedding venues, we have wedding experience at, for example, the stately Royal Industrial Groote Club, which has a view of De Dam. It’s great fun to take pictures from the building, looking down on De Dam. We have also been to the West-Indisch Huis, The Grand, De Rode Hoed, The Pulitzer Hotel, Conservatorium Hotel and The College Hotel. Locations with a lot of history, original elements and a chic atmosphere.
But we also have experience with hip places like Pllek and De Hangar. Check out this super cool botanical wedding for example. De Kas, perhaps the lightest wedding location in Amsterdam is also a place we love to visit. And what do you think of this outdoor wedding in the Amstelpark? You need some luck with the weather, but what a place, right in the middle of Amsterdam! We also know the Tassenmuseum, we have been to Artis and last winter we took photos at Hotel Droog. And then we almost forgot to mention the Rijk van de Keizer… what a wonderful industrial place. In terms of atmosphere, perhaps comparable to the Transformatorhuis and Westerliefde, although the latter two locations are a little less “rural”, of course.
Wedding locations that are close to Amsterdam include Paviljoen Puur, Het Broeker Huis and the Arendshoeve (Garden of Amsterdam). All of them are locations where we had a lot of fun taking wedding photos.
