Getting married in Enschede, or at least starting the day, as this bride and groom decided to start in their own home and then set off for the Landgoed het Rheins in Enter.
Ramon and I got to capture their day as a duo wedding photographer and so we started at the preparations. Me with the bride, Ramon with the groom.
And what was really remarkable about this day: totally 0 stress. So nice to see! Everything was well planned: the preparations, the time we had for a few group photos (especially not too many, because they wanted a photojournalistic wedding reportage).
Nice to see their children, two little guys, having a good time too. The oldest had gotten a camera and was taking pictures all day ; ) And their expression too: so nice to show and say exactly what you really want. We are immense fans of children on your wedding day.
The first look took place in the backyard. The bride had been ready for a while and was then able to come downstairs to see her fiancรฉ. This is always a super fun moment.
Short photo shoot at your wedding
The photo shoot lasted maybe ten minutes. We also took some group photos. Just with the family present, so this would all be ready before the bride and groom really entered the wedding day. All together, we spent twenty minutes with those group photos, a mini-photo shoot and a few photos of the boys here and there.
Very important: apply some good oil with this nice weather. Both boys were quickly oiled up so they could then play outside in the playground of Landgoed Het Rheins in Enter.
Getting Married Under the Authentic Haystack
The bride and groom had about 45 minutes before the ceremony was to begin. They stayed out of sight so the guests could already sit in the ceremony area. In fact, there was a wedding under the Authentic Haystack of The Rheins Estate. A nice shady spot.
The wedding ceremony was full of emotion. From the guests in attendance, but also definitely from the bride and groom themselves!
Although many couples opt for one wedding cake, it was nice to see that this couple actually chose lots of different pastries. This allowed everyone to pick out exactly what they liked. We enjoyed a delicious cake ourselves.
And this moment may also have been one of my favorites. The videographer shot some images with his drone and Grandpa was eager to watch the footage being taken. The conversation that ensued here was so much fun to watch!
Ah yes, and in between a lot of speeches, hugging moments and a loose group photo here and there. Just because you can. And I like to show them because we do get asked more often if we take group photos.
Tip: read our plea for group photos here.
After dinner, there was time to freshen up. The day guests were already walking toward the banquet hall and new guests joined the rest. The bride and groom accepted congratulations, after which the party could begin. And the atmosphere was right on.
