Every once and a while we get to photograph at Hooge Vuursche Castle. A lovely castle in the woods of Baarn, the Netherlands. Every room is decorated with eye for detail, you can sit on golden chairs and the food… the food! Last week we photographed Tiffani and Koens wedding and we were so happy they asked us for this special day!
A great start of the day
The day started, as we often times see, with the preparations of both the groom, the groomsmen, the bride and her bridesmaids. Ramon and I both started to photograph every person relevant to this wedding. We saw many many details, a very special wedding dress, loads of coffee drinking people (I heard Dutch coffee is great) and got to witness a lot of special moments. For example: stylist Tommy Driessen styling his own brother.
Many intimate moments
There were little and big moments happening this day. Little moments like hugs between “new family members”. Since Tiffani is American and Koen is from the Netherlands, their families started to “melt” together during the wedding. It is so special to see two families become one. And overall this day was a great mix between both Dutch and American traditions. The wedding couple saw each other before the ceremony (Dutch), but there was also a first look moment for the brides dad and brothers, the bridesmaids and the groom and his mum. Loads and loads of emotional moments.
Live music during the ceremony
While the ceremony itself was very personal and special, we got goosebumps, right after the ceremony. The couple said yes, they kissed and suddenly a young man started to sing “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen. In such a great voice…. a few moments after that some other singers chimed in and not long after that an entire gospel choir appeared. Tatarata! A wedding present by Tommy and his partner. They gave the guests a moment they will never forget.
A very nice evening
The afternoon and evening flew by. All the guests enjoyed great food in one of the lovely Hooge Vuursche rooms. There were many great speeches and again we saw a lot of love between the guests. After dinner it was time for a great party. The bride and groom had their first dance and before we knew it everyone started dancing. What a great great day it was.
