If I were to summarize this wedding day with the words, “just a very very nice day”, that would not cover the load. It was an exceptionally nice day. A day that countless people had been looking forward to and that was wonderful to experience.
Get married at Kasteel de Wittenburg
Cor and Hellen had decided to get married at Kasteel Wittenburg, a stately place with delicious food and all kinds of beautiful rooms. Where the company could enjoy each other, the surroundings and a delicious corona break. (The lockdown was temporarily over, during this week). Because this day took place in September.
Relaxed preparations
The preparations took place, as they often do, on two locations. Cor with “the men” and Hellen with her friends and master of ceremonies. A really nice team of ladies to have at your wedding. Paulien had brought delicious sandwiches for lunch, there was good coffee, nice music and together we had a pleasant morning.
There was even some dancing! “Goin’ to the chapel and we’re gonna get married” by The Dixie Cups, perfect for a dance! To the dog, this was almost a normal day ;)
This photo was taken when Hellen is waiting for Cor to arrive. This family has had a Citroën Pike for years and so this couple really needed to have this car at their wedding as well.
Cor and Hellen took the Snoek and we drove our car in the direction of castle de Wittenburg. We walked to a small stream, close to the castle, to start the photo shoot. What a nice place to take pictures… beautiful old trees, lots of green and a fairytale atmosphere.
After the photo shoot Hellen retreated for a while, while Cor received the guests. Later Hellen was picked up by her brother, to go to the wedding hall. Always an exciting moment, this!
The wedding room at Kasteel de Wittenburg was beautifully decorated with flowers and there were white chairs for all the guests.
A drink in the garden
The company walked out of the room after the ceremony. Here they were received with a glass of bubbles and not much later they also received a delicious piece of cake. There was plenty of time scheduled for congratulations, nice conversations and fine snacks.
Dining at Castle Wittenburg
Dinner was also held at Wittenburg Castle. In the same room as the wedding ceremony. Here one could enjoy several courses. In between there was time for some personal speeches. One of them is still in our heads ;) A story about these two beautiful people was interrupted each time by singing “it’s must be love, love, love, nothing more, nothing less, love is the best…”.
Whoohoo, party time!
The party night took place in the hall, downstairs. A super retro band was playing records. The atmosphere was good right from the start. This was again a very nice ending of a very nice day.
The end of Hellen and Cors wedding day? They had rented 9 hotel rooms and were allowed to use the bridal suite. So not only getting married and partying, but also sleeping and then having breakfast with a lot of all those lovely people. Such a great wedding weekend!
