When you decide to get married in the Netherlands, it is quite important to choose a venue with enough hotel rooms. The Roode Koper is not only a venue with Michelin star: one can get married here and stay here! A perfect combination. We have often visited this (wedding) venue and are in deep awe of the hospitality of the people who work here.
Emilie and Bjorn, both Flemish, know this location. They love it and visit it almost every year. This year: for their wedding! The now live in the UK but knew instantly that they wanted to get married here and we were there to cover everything.
Getting married and having dogs
We started that morning with a walk with their dogs. Ramon went along for the walk and I stayed behind to take some detail photos. It was already quite hot, but nevertheless, it was a great morning. While Emilie went to do her preparations, Bjorn had a dip in the pool.
This was a very relaxed day. Emilie and Bjorn really took the time, for preparations, for food and for talking to their guests. We loved the atmosphere.
During ceremonies, we try to be as invisible as possible. Ramon makes a lot of wide angle shots and I try to focus on the guests. We work as a team so we get the best photos ; )
Dogs, dogs, everywhere dogs ; )
When evening set in, we had a short dinner while the guests were chatting and having a drink. Around 8 PM the barbecue was hot enough to make some lovely meals and we stayed untill 10-ish.
