This couple got married in Hedel. As an experienced wedding photographer who loves (Dutch) nature, this wedding was therefore a picture to photograph. Beautiful hiking areas, forests, fields, but also definitely gardens. So photographing the wedding of a Florist and a Gardener (yes with a capital ; ) was a little dream come true.
Getting married in Hedel
I began photographing in their home in the community of Hedel. They were also getting married that afternoon in Hedel, so a logical starting location. Nijs already left in the direction of his parents’ house and Dirma stayed behind in their own house with her sister-in-law, mother and little daughter.
Wedding photos around the house
After the touching first look, we left for the backyard for the first part of the wedding shoot. What a beautiful place! We were able to take some fine wedding photos here and all while little Rose was jumping on the trampoline. We made grateful use of this beautiful spot and then drove to another photo shoot location.
What luck to be able to visit such beautiful locations in the Netherlands for wedding photos! I always love seeing where brides and grooms take us.
Flowers, everywhere
The styling was all from Dirma’s team. She and Nijs also own the company POPPINGart, a wholesale silk flower business. And so, of course, those were extensively featured in the photos. A beautifully colorful whole like this. The venue, Boerengolf in Hedel, was extra cozy.
Emotional wedding photos
During the wedding ceremony you could really see that the emotions were released. This resulted in some authentic and moving wedding photos at this wedding venue in Hedel. Wonderful to see and experience!
Of course, the cake was also beautifully decorated with flowers.
Oh really, that atmosphere…. fantastic!

In the evening, everyone enjoyed a fine barbecue with delicious food. I ate a quick bite myself. Then, slowly but surely, the party began.
Wedding photos with setting sun
But before the feet really got off the floor, I first made a mini evening shoot with setting sun. Just because you can. And because it’s very nice to take a few minutes, as a bride and groom, for yourself. No one around you for a while (except for a remote photographer).
Evening of celebration with guest performance
The party night began with a performance by Helene Fischer Tribute by Natasja. She sang several songs and even arranged another polonaise. After this, it was time for me to go home, but I suspect it was still a very enjoyable evening.
