Our best wedding photos of the year
Are you planning to get married in 2022? And are you still looking for a wedding photographer? We’ve put together our best wedding photos of the year. Partly because we can, partly because we do this every year, and partly to complete another great year. Because in this way we run once through all the wedding reports (that we were allowed to post).
With each image, we have feelings and memories. For example, in the photo above, we first waited ten minutes for someone to let us into the buildings, but decided to just take photos outside anyway, since time was ticking away.
Or below such a moment when you see one of the groomsmen dancing across the room. Just little moments that might not otherwise be remembered.
That picture above always reminds me of Bridgerton, that scene in the museum ; )
And when choosing details, we have a struggle every year: Ramon says details don’t mean much, I myself am a fan and want to show more details.
This couple took us for a wedding on Schiermonnikoog. An island where we have not photographed before. And by coincidence we had another wedding on Schier that same weekend!
One or two wedding photographers?
This year was also about photographing separately more often for us. Ramon was already used to photographing on his own, as he also did weddings during my pregnancies. But I had to get back into photography mode myself. That started two years back, but last year and this year were another kickstart.
The fun part is that one gets extra creative from photographing together and separately. We certainly want to develop this further in 2022.
So nice that we were able to experience a few celebrations, this year! It may have been outdoors, but how cool is that really?
We also came to the Roode Koper twice again this year (one weekend).
This year we experienced a Silent Disco for the first time!
And we also had a brief discussion about this photo…. because: face mask. But… isn’t this exactly what this year was mostly about? The contrast and tension in terms of “what is allowed and what is not allowed”?
And here is another special story…. the wedding was allowed to go ahead in terms of measures, but then the bride was badly injured in her knee! The municipal ceremony went ahead, but the church wedding will come later. And so you see, nothing is certain.
We took this photo during one of the last weddings of the year. We were actually supposed to have two weddings that weekend, but then one was rescheduled (in Belgium the rules became much stricter). Ultimately, this made Ramon and I photograph this wedding together. We didn’t know this for sure until the night before the wedding, because the bride and groom had to wait until 7:00 p.m. to see what rules were imposed during the press conference.
Rain also remains a recurring theme. Fortunately, this bride and groom didn’t think it was a problem!
Fine hugs.
This day (above) I went out with my little brother. He is sometimes my driver, when I am photographing a wedding on my own and the day is complex in terms of travel moments and parking. He was able to let me out of the car in the center of Haarlem and went to park the car while I could photograph. Ideal!
I think this is my favorite wedding photo of the year….
And finally, a nice ending at dinner. The bride and groom enjoyed their dinner and delicious speeches, and Ramon took picture after picture. So all in all, a fantastic year. A year that cannot be compared to other years and has brought us again a lot of beautiful things.
